Principal's Message

Welcome back to the 2026–2027 school year! We are excited to begin another incredible year of learning, growth, and success at Emerson!

This year, our school theme is "Rooted to Grow, Ready to Soar! Strong Roots, Bold Wings, Endless Possibilities." Together, we will nurture strong roots by building meaningful relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating a school community where every student feels valued and supported. As our Eagles grow in confidence, knowledge, and character, they will be ready to spread their wings, embrace new opportunities, and soar toward endless possibilities.

To launch the year, LBUSD teachers will once again implement the Smart Start curriculum during the first three weeks of school. This approach helps create a welcoming, supportive, and caring atmosphere while giving students meaningful opportunities to build relationships, establish positive classroom communities, and transition smoothly back into learning.

We remain committed to LBUSD's Vision 2035: "Graduates of Long Beach Unified School District are future-ready. They are trustworthy, ethical, and resilient, and are able to learn, collaborate, and adapt to changing circumstances. They act confidently in the service of justice." At Emerson, we bring this vision to life by cultivating strong roots in academic excellence, kindness, perseverance, and belonging. Through high-quality instruction, meaningful learning experiences, and strong partnerships with our families, we empower every Eagle to develop bold wings that allow them to soar academically, socially, and emotionally while preparing for a future filled with endless possibilities.
